Union Pension Plan Takes Aim at Citi Directors

The pension plan of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees has ginned up a colorful poster, complete with red umbrella, to mark its campaign against several Citigroup directors.þþThe union, which represents 1.6 million members nationwide, is urging Citigroup shareholders to withhold their votes for several long-term members of the audit and risk management committee of the board. Members of the committee include C. Michael Armstrong, Alain Belda, John Deutch, Andrew Liveris, Anne Mulcahy and Judith Rodin.þþThe bank’s annual meeting, set for Tuesday in New York, could be a raucous event as many shareholders are fuming over the drop in Citi’s stock price and several proxy advisory firms have advised their clients to withhold votes. þ
