Ford Recalls Lincoln MKZ Hybrid

  • 11-29-2013
Ford’s third recall in as many days affects the 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. The safety compliance recall for 7,329 Lincoln MKZ addresses a problem with the transmission.þþA driver can shift the car out of Park without applying his foot to the brake, which is in violation of federal safety code. A manufacturing error has resulted in the transmission having range sensors that can assume the vehicle is in Neutral, thus enabling the driver to inadvertently shift. It increases the risk of unintended vehicle movement.þþNo accidents, injuries or reports have been reported.þþAffected vehicles include certain 2013 – 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid vehicles built at Hermosillo Assembly Plant from April 26, 2012 – September 24, 2013.þþTo see if your car is affected, enter your VIN on Ford’s site. The 17-digit VIN is located on a label on the driver door opening, or at the base of the driver’s side windshield, and on the vehicle registration.þþYou can also contact a local dealer or call 866-436-7332 in the U.S. or 888-222-7814 in Canada.
