SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - After months of failed labor bargaining, over 300 union workers at McKenzie Willamette Medical Center will go on a five day strike Monday morning at 7 am.þþThe hospital caregivers, represented by SEIU 49, have officially delivered a ten-day notice of their intent to hold an unfair labor practice strike.þþDespite ongoing negotiations and a two-day strike in early October, the group claims that progress has not been made on their demands, which include: affordable healthcare, higher wages, and additional PTO or COVID protection payments. They are also trying to prevent management from outsourcing McKenzie jobs.þþThe strike is scheduled to last until December 11th.þþ
