Los Angeles Unified School District, the nation’s second-largest school district, will shut down all 1,000 campuses beginning Tuesday as teachers and school staff unions strike for three days.þþThe district and parents are scrambling to care for and feed some 420,000 children. The strike is led by the union representing staff that includes bus drivers, custodians and teaching assistants. The teachers union is joining their walkout in solidarity.
