STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The New York State Nurses Association and Staten Island University Hospital/Northwell Health have come to a tentative contract agreement, just three days before 1,300 nurses were set to strike.þþThe tentative agreement — which was settled early Saturday morning following a marathon bargaining session, according to the nurse’s union — includes improvements to safe staffing standards and stronger safe staffing enforcement.
